Dear Friends:

We wanted to inform you that New Desire has been chosen out of many groups to go to Africa as missionaries for seven days. We would like to ask you for your support through prayer. We will be serving the people in Nairobi, Kenya in East Africa. Nairobi occupies roughly 150 square kilometers in Central Kenya.   The population of approximately 3.5 million primarily consists of four people groups: the Kikuyus, Kambas, Meru, and Embu.  In addition to their native tribal dialects, the majority of Nairobi's residents are fluent in both Swahili and English.  Nairobi hosts some of the most dense, unsanitary and insecure slums in the world.  Slum dwellers constitute the majority of the city's population; an estimated 60 per cent of the city's official total population lives in slums and informal settlements.  

New Desire will be singing, Brenda will be doing a women’s conference and I will be preaching during our stay in Africa. This is an opportunity that we have been praying for for over 10 years now. We know that God opened the door for us, and we are excited about how He is going to use us in this mission field. You all know that we are already missionaries to the United States and to Canada, but to be chosen to be missionaries in Africa is another answered prayer.

We already have staff members, family and our advisory board helping us raise the funds that we will need for us to go to Africa. However, they have informed us that just fundraisers will not complete the project. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Our expenses will be approximately $30,000.00 for the six members of New Desire to go on this mission trip. This will help cover airfare, hotel accomodations, food expenses, free Christian literature that we will prepare and handout, shots, antibiotics to prevent infections, etc.  We know that this will be an expensive trip, but we also know that God will provide a way for us to meet these expenses.

If your church or any member of your church is interested in donating money to help meet our financial needs, it would be greatly appreciated. We are a non-profit organization (501C3). Any donations made are tax deductable. Even if you are unable to make financial donations, please pray for our safety and our effectiveness. Our main goal is for someone to come to know Christ as their personal Savior. That is what our ministry is all about.
